Uxbridge Town Centre – Local Policing Update

Dear Residents,

Your local Uxbridge Town Centre policing team has been working hard to keep the area safe and address issues that matter to our community.

Over the past period, officers have been proactively tackling a range of issues affecting the area:

Police Activity:

E-bike enforcement: Two illegal e-bikes were seized due to having no insurance and being ridden otherwise than in accordance with a licence.

Anti-social behaviour (ASB): A vehicle stop was conducted to deter a car meet linked to ASB at Bakers Yard Car Park.

Stop and Search: Two stop-and-searches were carried out under Section 1 of PACE (Police and Criminal Evidence Act) in relation to suspected stolen property.

Intelligence:

One intelligence report submitted regarding pickpocketing activity.
One intelligence report submitted regarding premises suspected of purchasing stolen goods.

Crime reporting: One report of common assault involving a parking enforcement officer was recorded and is under investigation.

Working alongside council enforcement teams, further action has been taken to improve safety and compliance:

A total of 8 Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) issued on the High Street for:

4 × e-bikes riding on the pavement
3 × PSPO (Public Spaces Protection Order) breaches
1 × wilful obstruction

12 verbal warnings given to cyclists riding within the designated “No Cycle Zone”.

1 FPN issued to an electric scooter rider for a PSPO breach.

These results come directly from increased visibility, targeted patrols, and support from local businesses and residents. We will continue focusing on crime prevention and keeping Uxbridge a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
